Airport "Eagle". Will there be a prospect for this enterprise?
Airport "Eagle" is located six kilometers fromcity center with the same name. The above-mentioned object of transport infrastructure has a sufficiently large landing runway, which is the landing site for airborne ships weighing almost a hundred tons.
A bit of history
Airport "Orel" began operating in 1909year, when he was sent an airplane with a cargo. Four years after the establishment of Soviet power in Russia, an air station was created, which became the connecting transport link between the cities of Orel and Moscow.
In 1923 the route was extended to the UkrainianKharkov. From this moment the terminal began to function at full force. Additional airliners were purchased, which were put on the balance of the transport enterprise.

In 1998 the airport "Orel" became attractivefor investors. One of the commercial structures expressed a desire to modernize the terminal building and the landing site. After the reconstruction, the latter became longer, which allowed to increase the status of the transport infrastructure object.
Airport "Eagle" was updated for several years, and only in late 1999 there was a solemn event about its opening.
It should be noted that after the investor canceled the contract in 2004, the financial status of the terminal began to deteriorate.
Today, a sad picture opens before those,who decided to come to the city of Orel: the airport with the same name hardly works (only one dispatch service for tracking flights). In the spring of 2011, this facility became an integral part of the state program, which provides for the reconstruction of major aviation units.
What are the future prospects for the airport?
However, subsequently, officialsThe Ministry of Economic Development of Russia said that allocating funds from the state treasury to repair an airport in the city of Orel does not at all mean that it will be fully exploited, since the region lacks an operator and a basic carrier. In this regard, the federal authorities recommended their colleagues from the region to focus on other options for transport communications. After all, another ten years will pass before the financial situation of the airport is corrected, and only then the enterprise will be able to become competitive.
As arguments for the adoption of this"Unpopular" decision, the federal authorities brought the fact that the work on the modernization of the airport will cost more than three billion rubles. On its annual maintenance will need about two hundred million rubles a year. Of course, the regional budget will not "pull" such a burden.
Experts are sure that the only way out of the created situation is to search for a major investor who, together with the state, will seriously modernize the Eagle airport.
