August 41st. Allies first meeting and victory
In August 1941, the Soviet Union and the British Empire could have serious problems in Asia. The fact is that Iran was quite ready to take part in the war on the side of Germany with all the unpleasant consequences for the allies.
Therefore, the Soviet and British troops solved the problem with Iran by force. That is, they calmly crossed the border and quickly made a blitzkrieg in Asia. For the defeat of Iran and the occupation of the entire territory of the country was enough for four days, although the forces were, of course, unequal.
And in the photo the meeting of British and Soviet troops in the area of Qazvin. They had only recently become allies, but together they began to do a great job, which would end with another meeting, not in Asia, but on the Elbe with the Americans and the British. In the meantime, the Soviet BA-10 and Gurkha arrows met in Asia on one of the local roads. Victory is still far away, but the occupation of Iran and the Persian Lend-Lease route, which will pass from the Persian Gulf to the USSR, will also make its important contribution to it.
