Health group. Medical Health Groups
Surely many of us have heard the phrase: “Your child has 3 health groups, or this person is the second group.” However, few people thought about what kind of group it is and what it means.
What it is?
What is meant by the term health group?
A health group is a conditional term, a set of various indicators of the internal environment of the body, which allows to judge about the state of its health and promptly predict and take appropriate measures to provide the necessary medical care.
She exhibited as a result of the passage of the planned professional examinations. In children, the district pediatrician is responsible for its determination, in adults, the therapist.
The decision is made purely by the doctor as a result of analyzing the frequency of seeking medical help, based on the presence of concomitant diseases, the severity of the condition.
Over time, the state of the body may change, which requires an annual survey to clarify the group.
In children, 5 health groups are allocated, while the health groups of adults are 3. On the basis of what can we determine how healthy a child is, and what criteria must be taken into account?
The group is defined according to criteria approved by the World Health Organization.
Medical health groups are defined by the following features:
- The presence or absence of deviations in the period of development and embryo development
- The level and degree of physical development of the organism, its compliance with accepted standards for a certain age.
- Mental health condition.
- The state of the organs and body systems.
- The presence or absence of congenital pathology or malformations.
The health group is determined on the basis of all the above signs. Usually, a set of obtained data is used to determine it, but the degree itself is set according to the most severe pathology. For example, a child may be healthy in all respects, but after a trauma he has a significant deviation in the state of the nervous system. As a result of this, he will be exposed to the fifth group.
This group of health is usually exposed to children who have no health abnormalities, without congenital malformations or developmental defects. Such children have physical and mental health and development appropriate for their age. Exposed to children up to 17 years old inclusive (after that the state of the health group is characterized by the criteria inherent in an adult).
Medical examinations are conducted by such children in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory documents in full.
In adults, the first group is exposed to persons who, as a result of a comprehensive medical examination, have not revealed any pathologies from the health side, and have no chronic diseases. Such people do not need dispensary observation. In addition, these people have no risk factors, or their influence is extremely small.
This category is quite rare, especially for adults. Most often there are children and adults of the second or third groups.
Group 2 health in children is the most common. It includes, as in the first group, healthy children, but with the risk of developing chronic diseases. Conventionally, in young children, this group is divided into subcategories “A” and “B”.
For children of subcategory "A", the presence of a burdened biological history (chronic diseases of parents with a high risk of inheritance), social (dysfunctional family) is typical, but according to all other criteria they are no different from healthy children.
Subgroup B is characterized by the presence of “risk”: frequently ill children, children with anomalies or abnormalities in physiological development.
Group 2 of health in adults is manifested by a high overall risk of developing cardiovascular disease, accompanied by the presence of risk factors and relatively positive test results (no chronic disease has been established).
It unites children who have a documented presence of chronic pathology in the compensation stage (rare exacerbations, mild course of the disease at the time of exacerbation, fairly rapid development of remission, the presence of functional abnormalities in only one organ system).
In addition, this group includes those children who have some physical defects or impairments, resulting from operations or injuries suffered, as a result of which the child has some difficulty in the activity, but does not limit their learning or daily activities.
In adults, the definition of the third group of health usually means that there are prerequisites or reliable data on the presence of a chronic process, concomitant risk factors, causing the development of pathology and significantly affecting livelihoods, as well as a significant risk of developing severe concomitant diseases. Persons in this group are subject to follow-up and need specialized medical care.
Fourth health group
It is exposed to children with severe chronic pathology or congenital anatomical defect, which is in the stage of subcompensation (that is, the affected organ or their system can also affect other organ systems). Characterized by frequent exacerbations of the underlying disease, accompanied by a deterioration of health in the acute period and the preservation of such in the period of remission for a long time.It is also important that there is a limitation in training and work (it differs from the third degree in difficulties in the field of life, than training), as well as in self-service.
Such children need maintenance therapy, almost constant monitoring by their relatives. With timely measures taken to eliminate the deficiencies, it is possible to improve the condition and transfer the child to the 3rd or the second group.
When the condition deteriorates, the child is transferred to group 5.
This name is the fifth, most severe group of children's health. Its characteristic signs are the presence of severe chronic disease in a state of decompensation, rare periods of remission and quite frequent exacerbations. Periods of deterioration are quite difficult, which significantly affects the condition of the child.
These children have a significant impairment of ability to work and life, which provides for constant monitoring of their condition by the guardian, treatment for a long time, often not bringing results.
The transition from the fifth group of children's health to others is carried out quite rarely (only as a result of transferred operations with a favorable outcome).
In this group are children with disabilities.Training and restoration of their social function takes place in specialized institutions.
Behavior with representatives of various categories
1-3 groups of children's health practically do not require outside intervention, in addition to taking the indicated drugs or procedures for the underlying disease. Such people and children can independently serve themselves. In addition, they have not lost the ability to learn and learn, which also contributes to their speedy recovery, rehabilitation and transition from the current group to the first.
As for the representatives of the fourth and fifth groups, everything is much more complicated. These children need patronage from the side of medical workers, constant care and assistance in training.
Special rehabilitation groups are also organized for children who have 4 or 5 health groups. Classes are designed in such a way that children communicate with other suffering children, perform exercises that contribute to the improvement of their condition. Equally important is the factor of trust that develops between the doctor and patients.
