Lotus birth of a child in Bali: the story of a mother
Today, a guest of UAUA.info is a cosmopolitan woman, the owner of the project “Bringing out of office” and a young mother, Anna Vsekhsvyatskaya.
Daughter Ania Sophia was born in Bali, the birth was home, and took their famous midwife Robin Lim, who knows everything about the lotus birth.
Why did you decide to give birth in Bali? Have you been there before? What other countries considered?
We every winter hibernate in warm places and usually complete our journey exactly in Bali. This is a very special place, incredibly beautiful, original, comfortable for life in all respects. In addition, in Ubud (the city where we usually live) there is a natural birth clinic founded by world-famous midwife Robin Lim. In this clinic (or directly from Robin at home) almost all of our friends gave birth, and we had heard a lot about how the birth was gently carried out and what kind of peaceful children were born.
When we met with Robin personally, the option to give birth in Kiev fell away by itself. Other countries did not even consider it.
Why did you decide to give birth at home?
First of all, I don’t like hospitals, I’m uncomfortable, scared and so on. Secondly, I believe that the birth of a child is a very large load for a small person and you need to create the most mild and comfortable conditions for meeting him - only loving people are near, twilight and silence. Thirdly, I was confident in my abilities and in the professionalism of Robin and Carly, who took delivery. I knew that if something went wrong, they would have time to react quickly and either help themselves on their own or take me to the nearest clinic.
What is the peculiarity of natural genera and what is a lotus birth?
Natural childbirth is childbirth without any external intervention, without stimulation, anesthesia and other things. Midwives are just next door and guide the process in the right direction. The essence of lotus birth is that the child is not cut the umbilical cord at birth. He lives with his placenta for several days, until the umbilical cord itself withers.
At the birth of a child in the placenta, 20-30% of blood rich in oxygen and stem cells remains. If the umbilical cord is clamped and cut off immediately, this blood will not have time to pass to the child and it will have an oxygen deficiency, first breath syndrome and reduced immunity. It takes at least 30 minutes for the blood to flow completely and the umbilical cord stops pulsing.
In Bali, the placenta is called Ari-Ari and is considered to be something like our guardian angel, so the separation from the placenta should be mild, non-violent.
Did you give birth with your husband?
Yes, my husband was there for labor and the birth, he helped, when it was necessary, when not - he did not interfere. In general, he was the ideal partner :) Actually, he accepted our daughter.
How much did your delivery cost?
Home birth with Robin Lim costs about 3 thousand dollars. If you want to give birth in her clinic - it can be done for a donation, there is no fixed price.
Will the next genera be in Bali too?
Honestly, I have not thought about it yet :) But there is a high probability that yes! It is not only good to give birth, but it is also very convenient to raise children - always fresh air, organic food, sun, swimming pool at home and so on. No need to sit on a rigid diet after childbirth, wrap up, buy a lot of unnecessary things, waste time on fees "walk." Everything happens somehow easily and naturally, wore a dress, a child in a sling and went on business)
What would you change now? Give advice to moms how to avoid possible mistakes.
I would change 3 things:
- I would not give up the Down Syndrome test anymore. I, like so many girls, have 4 times the result, and if I were more neurotic, I would have panicked
- I flew a lot during pregnancy (I had about 30 flights) and everything was fine, but the last flight to Bali at the end of the 7th month was really difficult! If you fly so far at such a time, it is only in business class, otherwise everything flows numb, prevents you from not bending down, not straightening.
- I would not hope that "here I have contractions and deliveries will pass quickly and painlessly." Several of my friends gave birth very quickly and relatively painlessly, so I, in a sinful affair, thought that in a couple of hours I would face and forget! But it turned out a little longer :).
