Moscow embankments

When was the first time I was still in childhood in Moscow, you know what surprised me the most?
Embankments. In the center of the capital is the Moskva River, the Yauza is chained into stone.

But then I was surprised not so much by stone embankments, but another thought struck me.
This is how many people, how much time, money and materials you need to equip the coast like this!
And not one kilometer, not one river. What a huge job to improve the embankments. I still do not technically understand how this is done at all - how are they building stone blocks in the banks, how are the foundations built?
In short, even the metro is not so impressive, although it is also a complex structure.
Equipped embankments - this is very cool if you compare what kind of fad are the main rivers of other cities. There are broken glass, used condoms, and leftover food, which for some reason resting cattle forgets to clean up after a picnic in the center of the regional center.
And in Moscow? If Stalin's embankments are just a stone, then the modern ones that are being built in the capital are an entire infrastructure complex.
A round table on the theme “Moscow River” devoted to the improvement of embankments was held in the capital.
Now Sobyanin is not only building new ones (in former industrial zones, in New Moscow, outside the Third Transport Ring), but also reconstructing old ones, transforming them from Soviet monumentalism into modern urban objects.
And although I really love the same Frunze Embankment, it is still outdated. In the photo, for example, it is on the left, and on the right is the new Luzhnetskaya embankment:

In Moscow, 160 km of embankments. Previously, most of them were closed - they were in the territory of industrial zones, undergrowth, or closely adjacent to the highways. Over the past 10 years, Sobyanin has put in order 53 km of them, and another 70 km is planned to be arranged in the near future.
