We grow cucumber seedlings properly at home
Cucumbers are heat-loving plants, but they are most popular not in the south, but in the central regions of our country, where even cucumber festivals are held at the height of summer. A Russian man can not be deprived of this vegetable, it is one of our Russian "brands". Most often, cucumbers are grown by sowing seeds directly in the garden, but to obtain early production, they often sow seeds and to obtain seedlings at home.
Is it necessary to plant cucumbers through seedlings
Cucumbers are planted practically throughout the whole territory of our country: somewhere in the open ground, somewhere in hotbeds, and in the north - only in heated greenhouses. Once, cucumbers were eaten only in summer. In the last Soviet years, long greenhouse cucumbers began to be sold on the day of the Soviet Army, but now you can buy cucumbers of various varieties almost all year round. For their cultivation in large agricultural enterprises built huge greenhouses. If we talk about Russian summer residents, they carry out sowing of cucumbers mostly only in spring, but they try to do it early to get the first crispy products when the body is not spoiled with summer vitamins.
Once in the spring it was for the happiness to buy such long cucumbers: others were not offered
In most of our country, there is no need for mandatory sowing of cucumber seeds for seedlings: for many varieties and hybrids, the first cucumbers ripen in 33–38 days after germination, and even sowing seeds in the garden at the beginning of summer, you can grow so many cucumbers that will be enough to eat and preserve. But if you want to get products early, at the very beginning of summer, and there are no greenhouses in the country house, then it makes sense to cook seedlings. It is not difficult to do this in a city apartment, because, unlike, for example, cabbage seedlings, cucumber seedlings do not require low temperatures, and the room conditions suit her perfectly. A seedling grows quickly, does not require much time. It does not require a lot of space on the windowsill, because to get early production it is enough to plant no more than ten copies.
When to sow: lunar calendar 2018
In central Russia to plant cucumbers in the garden is desirable not earlier than the end of spring (in the greenhouse, of course, earlier, depending on its quality). And since from the moment of sowing the seeds to the planting of seedlings should take about a month, the best time for sowing seeds fall on the third decade of April. These terms are almost independent of the variety of cucumbers: they all grow at about the same speed, and all varieties and hybrids are planted and sown almost at the same time.
However, in recent years, many gardeners and gardeners compare the dates of their suburban affairs with the phases of the movement of the heavenly bodies, and many printed and electronic publications systematically publish various lunar calendars, which give the most favorable and forbidden dates for sowing or planting certain crops, caring for them, harvesting. It is not always correct to use such calendars, since the analysis shows that different publishers indicate completely different dates for the same occasion.Sometimes the days that are named the best in one newspaper for sowing are considered forbidden in the other. Therefore, those who want to do everything “as the Moon orders” must go through many sources, analyze them and make the right decision for themselves.
It is believed that the sowing of cucumbers must be made during the growing moon, closer to the days of the new moon. At this time, growth processes are activated, which has a good effect not only on the sowing of seeds, but also on the future harvest. Based on this, many sources call the most favorable dates in 2018:
- 5–9, April 20–24;
- 4–9, May 19–23.
At the same time, it is strongly advised not to sow cucumbers on 15-17, 29 and 30 April, as well as 14-16 and 28-30 May.
It is believed that cucumbers must be sown during the growing moon
However, in other editions, the given dates are shifted by several days in one direction or another. Careful analysis allows us to conclude that a working person does not have a special sense of focusing on such calendars, otherwise you can simply skip all the sowing dates and be left without a crop. Yes, probably, there is something in the influence of the heavenly bodies on the Earth’s flora, and the phases of the Moon do in some way affect the well-being of plants. But, most likely, not enough to follow the instructions of astrologers fanatically. After all, no one can help us better than we do it ourselves!
In our next article, you will learn about the features of growing healthy seedlings of Bulgarian pepper: https://legkovmeste.ru/ogorod/vyirashhivanie-rassadyi-pertsa-v-domashnih-usloviyah.html
To sow cucumber seeds for seedlings, you need to prepare them: the seeds themselves, the nutrient soil, and the containers in which we place this soil. As for containers, everything is absolutely clear: unlike many vegetables, cucumber seedlings should be grown exclusively in individual cups! No boxes in this case do not fit: cucumbers do not tolerate transplants, for them the dive operation is excluded. Moreover, the design of the cups should be such that they can be extracted from seedlings with minimal damage to the root system. Best of all - completely without damage, and this is possible only when using peat pots or tablets. In addition, the capacity for cucumber seedlings should be quite large: a volume of 300 ml, and better - about half a liter: the seedlings grow very quickly.
Cucumbers are good because you do not need to buy their seeds annually: they are stored for a very long time, sometimes up to 8 years. Moreover, fresh seeds are worse than those that have been lying for two or three years. For sowing, it is preferable to use two-, three-, four-year-old seeds. On the plants grown from them, female flowers appear earlier - it means that they enter fruiting faster. Of course, this does not apply to those hybrids in which almost all flowers are female.
As for seeds from their cucumbers, the situation here every year becomes more difficult. This is simply due to the invasion of a huge number of new hybrids (F1). Honestly, I can’t even believe that they are all really new, the variety of sachets in seed shops is so great! It seems sometimes: what else can you invent in a cucumber? But hybrids are much more expensive than the good old seeds! Of course, their crop is usually higher, and resistance to adverse conditions and pests is more reliable ... But our grandmothers always planted proven cucumber varieties and never left without a crop. By “sinning”, sometimes with this, we take seeds from our own fruits.
By the way: among the usual three-edged fruits (if you look closely, in the yellowed, fully ripe cucumbers are clearly visible faces: they are, in fact, not entirely cylindrical) sometimes there are tetrahedral specimens. Their seeds are better.
However, when more and more hybrids are planted around, it becomes dangerous to take seeds from their own varieties: everything is pereopolylyaetsya, and what happens in the end is not known in advance. Therefore, it is necessary to gradually abandon the harvesting of cucumber seeds from your garden and use the store. And since the actual time of their collection is unknown, even they should be kept for a year in the nightstand. In general, the main stages of seed preparation are as follows (but not all of them are mandatory):
- Warming up of dry seeds.
- Swelling in water.
Calibration of seeds can be carried out manually: the seeds of cucumber are quite large, and it is easy to feel empty by touch. It is easier, of course, to put them in a solution of table salt (dessert spoon in a glass of water), shake and wait a few minutes. The worthless will not drown.
If we only sow seeds that have just been bought, before sowing it, we need to warm up a couple of days before the heating battery. This reduces the amount of empty color.
Seeds of cucumbers are quite large, it is easy to handle them
Is seed disinfection necessary? For purchased in a serious store of seeds of reputable companies it is not required. It’s better to sanitize your seeds or from “Aunt Masha” first and then germinate or sow them. The simplest thing is to hold them for 15-20 minutes in a strong solution of potassium permanganate. Do not prepare strictly 1% solution, as advised in most sources! Well, where do you take such an accurate scale at home? The solution should be dark purple.Just need to wait until all the crystals of potassium permanganate dissolve, the dissolution is slow! After disinfection, rinse the seeds well with clean water.
Some gardeners then soak the seeds in fertilizer solutions (nitrophoska, urea, ash, etc.). The measure is useful, but not mandatory.
After disinfection it is useful to conduct hardening. This operation is especially important if planting seedlings in open ground is planned for a risky period (when chillings are still possible). For planting in the greenhouse hardening the seeds does not make sense. Do not harden and seeds of hybrids. Hardening is simply keeping wet seeds in a rag under refrigerator conditions. Hold them there should be from 18 to 24 hours.
Before sowing, the seeds are kept for about 24 hours (until they swell) in clean warm water (from 20 to 30aboutFROM). Then they are lightly dried so as not to stick together when sowing. Germinate seeds at the same temperature, best in wet sawdust, sand or moss. Sprouting ends when a small root forms - half the length of the seed.
If germination has grown so long roots, as in the photo, they will be hard to sow: you can break
Is it possible to do nothing of the above? Can! Seeds will ascend and dry sowing.Only a little later. But after all in spring there is enough time, you don’t need to hurry anywhere? Therefore, we choose from the described steps only those that are strictly necessary in each specific situation.
For the cultivation of seedlings cucumber requires a light, neutral in acidity, moisture and air-permeable soil. It must be very nutritious, because cucumber will have to live in it for no more than a month, the seedlings grow very quickly, you can not catch up with top dressing. And it is better to do without them.If the ready soil is bought in a store, it should be for cucumbers and not very cheap: any land of an unknown producer may not be sufficiently nutritious. It is not necessary to disinfect the purchased soil, but if it was purchased in winter, it is better to keep it in the cold for several days.
For self-preparation of the nutrient mixture it is necessary to mix sod land, good compost, peat and sand. Compost take two parts, the other components - one by one. Of course, it is not always on hand to have all the components, options are possible: someone adds sawdust, someone replaces sand with perlite, etc. That's only if the earth is taken directly in the garden, it must be disinfected: calcined in the oven (oh, how wonderful it smells in the kitchen!) Or shed with a pink solution of potassium permanganate. If there is no humus at all, you will have to add a complex mineral fertilizer (for example, up to 50 g of azofoska per bucket of mixture). Very good in a mixture for cucumbers, ordinary ash wood (a glass on a bucket of soil).
Sometimes the prepared soil mixture is treated with complex fungicides: Fitosporin, Fitoverm, etc. All this, of course, is good, but cucumbers fly into a pretty penny! If there is a danger that harmful microorganisms are not completely destroyed in the incandescent earth, and there was no potassium permanganate in the house, it will be cheaper to shed the earth with a blue solution of copper sulfate. The prepared soil at the stage of normal humidity should be poured into cups, placing a centimeter drainage layer on the bottom, and let it stand for a day, mature.
How to grow cucumber seedlings at home: technology and features
Sowing seeds in cups is easy. The seeds are put on 2 pieces to a depth of about 1.5 cm, after the emergence of shoots only one of them is left in the cup (for expensive prepared seeds, this is too much luxury, and one at a time).Seeds are sprinkled with soil and sprayed with crops from a spray bottle. Put the cups in the tray, cover with glass or transparent film and transfer to a warm place (preferably 25-28aboutFROM). The emergence of shoots can be expected in 5–8 days, sometimes a little earlier.
Growing seedlings on the windowsill
The best place for seedlings is a warm window-sill illuminated by the sun. Before the emergence of seedlings with crops, they do not do anything, only sometimes they lift the glass in order to air a little, and if necessary, spray the soil with water. When mass shoots appear, the glass should be removed and the temperature should be lowered in some way: during the first week it should stay around 18 a day.aboutC, and at night a few degrees lower. Then the optimum temperature is around 24aboutWith day and 18aboutWith the night.
In this case, the illumination of seedlings in the daytime should be as possible and uniform. With insufficient lighting, seedlings are quickly drawn out, poorly absorbed nutrients, and as a result, they can simply die. Therefore, with a lack of sunlight, it is necessary to provide additional lighting with fluorescent lamps or diode lamps.
Seedlings need space, when growing at home, the plants should not touch each other, so periodically the cups need to be rearranged. The remaining stages in the care of seedlings - the usual, and they are reduced to watering and hardening before planting in the ground. Top dressing is required only in case of using poor soil mixture.
Often not only seedlings are grown on the windowsill, even small yields of cucumbers are produced.
Watering can be carried out only with warm water (about 25 ° C). Under no circumstances should it be poured, the soil should always be slightly wet: excess water quickly leads to root decay. After watering it is desirable to slightly pour dry dry sand to the roots. We need fertilizing only if something is wrong with the seedlings: growth stopped, yellowed or leaves began to turn, etc. If no pests were found, or the disease can not be suspected, and with climatic conditions everything is in order, most likely, cucumbers not enough food.
It is usually enough to pour cucumbers with ash extract or a mixture of trace elements (with boron content). And sometimes it is better to conduct foliar feeding: spraying the leaves with a weak solution of complex fertilizer (according to the instructions on the package).Only the solution should really be weak, so as not to burn the leaf apparatus. After any kind of feeding, the seedlings should be watered well, and the soil should be slightly mulched.
The advantages of home growing seedlings are that it is always visible, it is easy to adjust the conditions. Disadvantages occur in case of insufficient illumination of the window sill, but this is fixable: it is only necessary to properly install additional lighting.
When the light is not enough, it is necessary to equip the backlight: it is best to use special fitolamps
Growing seedlings in the greenhouse
When growing a dozen plants, there is nothing more convenient than a home window sill, but if you have to plant a large number of cucumbers, it makes sense to think about using a greenhouse. Especially if there is a modern polycarbonate greenhouse, in which it is easy to maintain the required temperature. In the case of a sudden decrease in air temperature below the extreme limit, it is possible to cover the seedlings inside the greenhouse with non-woven material, but usually this is not necessary.
Of course, in the greenhouse for seedlings need constant care, so greenhouse cultivation is suitable only for those gardeners who can visit their farm every day.If the further cultivation of cucumbers is supposed to be in the greenhouse, the seeds are sown around April 20, and in the middle of May the cucumbers are planted in a permanent place. If the further habitat is open ground, then the time of sowing the seeds remain the same as in the conditions of the apartment.
Since a sufficient area can be planted in a greenhouse, seedlings can be dispensed with by sowing seeds on a small bed.But it is necessary to sow so that cucumbers grow freely, the roots of neighboring plants are not intertwined, and during transplantation each specimen can be easily removed from the bed with a large lump of earth without disturbing the root system.
When growing in a greenhouse, you should try to maintain the same temperature regime as at home: immediately after emergence of the seedlings, lower the temperature slightly, and then to prevent it from lowering in the daytime below 20aboutC, and at night 14aboutC. Periodically, the greenhouse should be aired, to prevent the formation of condensate on the surfaces. In the phase of two real leaves, you can feed cucumbers with a weak solution of fertilizers; in the greenhouse, no one interferes with the use of mullein for this.Watering seedlings preferably in the morning.
It makes sense to use a greenhouse when growing a large number of seedlings
Growing seedlings in the greenhouse has advantages over the apartment house in case of possibility to visit the greenhouse systematically: then the obvious pluses are the presence of large areas under crops. The disadvantages of an unheated greenhouse may be affected by a sudden cold snap, when even covering with insulating material may not help. But such cases are rare.
Hardening of seedlings and planting it in open ground
Cucumber seedlings in a temporary place lives no more than a month. From this time, the first week of her kept at low temperatures, the second - in a comfortable environment, and then begin to accustom to the harsh life in the beds. Both at home and in the greenhouse for some time cucumbers are satisfied with "shakes", reducing the temperature or arranging a small airing, but without serious drafts. During the week of transfer to the garden, these activities should become more rigid.
In the conditions of an apartment, first take out cups of seedlings for 15–20 minutes to the balcony, then gradually increase the time.In the greenhouse open windows or doors. However, daytime temperatures in this case at first try not to reduce below 17aboutC. By planting on a bed, seedlings should remain in the fresh air already before half of the daytime.
High-quality seedlings of cucumbers, ready for life on the garden, should have 4-5 strong large dark green leaves on a powerful, but short main escape. It is very good, if by this time she already had an outline of her antennae and is quite excellent, if several buds were born.
With flowering seedlings there may be problems during transplantation, so it’s not worth further development than before budding.
Before transplanting the soil in glasses should be moistened abundantly. Carefully removed from the cups, seedlings are planted after 30–40 cm. More frequent arrangement is possible only for some varieties characterized by a low growth force. It makes no sense to remind that the bed should be prepared long before planting and richly filled with fertilizers, primarily organic. In each hole dug with a scoop, it makes sense to add local fertilizers in the form of a glass of wood ash, mixing them with the soil and watering well with warm water. It is not necessary to deeply deepen the plants: optimally plant cucumbers 2–3 cm deeper than they grew in cups.
The cucumber seedlings planted in the garden are well watered with warm water and mulched with a thin layer of humus or at least dry soil.
Variants of tanks for sowing seeds for seedlings
As mentioned above, the use of common boxes for cultivation of cucumber seedlings is excluded. The practice of making homemade containers made of plastic film is becoming a thing of the past. If there are no special containers for seedlings, in a year you can accumulate a sufficient amount of various plastic cups from under the products: sour cream, mayonnaise, cottage cheese, etc. But for cucumbers they must be of substantial size: the minimum is about 300 cm3and preferably half a liter.
Sowing seeds in cups
I would like to caution against the use of flimsy cups, the material of which is very thin. It is advisable to use only those vessels that when handling them almost do not change their shape, otherwise the roots of cucumbers will be easily injured when transferring seedlings from place to place and removing it during transplantation.
In any case, you need to have such containers that would allow you to easily extract from them plants with a clod of earth. The most suitable are special cups or pots with a retractable bottom, which is pushed out of the cup with the plant with the touch of a finger.
One touch of a finger - and the bottom with the plant is pulled out of the pot
There is an opinion that when planting seedlings there is no sense to get rid of the container, you can only deprive it of the bottom, and the root system of cucumbers will then begin to penetrate into the lower layers of the soil. The same glass can be removed after harvesting. The opinion is very correct, if the cups are wide enough. Such a measure is extremely useful in the fight against a terrible pest - a bear. When the plotter was on the bank of the pond and the bearheads at any time, it was possible to dig up as many souls as he wanted, we had to specifically use protection, planting each plant (cucumber, tomato, cabbage, etc.) in a can of canned food remote bottom. It helped.
Seeding of seeds in peat pots
Peat pots were incredibly popular 10–15 years ago, but now they are used somewhat less frequently, because it appeared that their usefulness was greatly exaggerated. However, the convenience of cups is undeniable: after all, they do not need to remove the seedlings, they bury it together with the cup, and the roots easily penetrate through the walls. Therefore, it is recommended to use them mainly for plants that do not tolerate the transplant; such are cucumbers.Peat pots for seedlings come in different sizes.
For the manufacture of peat pots used peat and compressed cardboard, these materials in the summer in the garden bed decompose almost without residue. However, different manufacturers produce pots with different wall thickness. Very thin are inconvenient because their handling is difficult: they are easily limped and even torn. Through the thickest walls are not always able to penetrate the roots of plants. For seedlings of cucumbers need pots with walls of medium thickness; the average should be their size.
Pots for cucumber seedlings should not be too small
Some gardeners soak peat pots in fertilizer solutions before use. Frankly, this procedure seems to be unnecessary. But to pick a good strong box for them, where they will stand firmly, it is imperative. It is advisable to make in the bottom and a few holes for the flow of clearly excess water. The water will go through the walls, but it will take some time, and the walls will be soaked in vain. The soil in the pots poured, not reaching about 1 cm to the top.
Sowing seeds and caring for seedlings in pots do not have any significant features. Perhaps only watering is required a bit more frequently than when using plastic containers. With the right choice of pots and their use, the number of their advantages mentioned above significantly exceeds the number of conditional flaws.
Use of peat tablets
Seedlings of cucumbers can be grown in peat tablets, choosing the versions of the largest size. Peat tablets are very convenient to use when growing seedlings of various plants. They are made of pressed peat with the addition of micronutrients, so fertilizing is usually not needed. Before using the tablet put in any convenient waterproof box and pour water until complete swelling. On one side of the tablet, a small depression was made for unfolding the seeds.
One seed is added to the recesses, after which they are instilled into the peat to a depth of about 1 cm with a stick or a toothpick.Watering the seedlings from the bottom: the water poured at the bottom of the box, is itself absorbed into the peat in the required dose.If the tablet is the right size, the entire care of the seedlings consists of periodic watering and temperature monitoring. Planting seedlings in a garden bed with a tablet, as well as peat pots.
Peat tablets from water swell up and turn into beautiful containers for seedlings
The use of peat tablets is extremely convenient, the lack of this is only one: a decent cost. But if you need to grow only a dozen copies of cucumber seedlings, you should not think about the disadvantages: the advantages of the tablets will be more than blocked by them.

Egg Shell Use
The inventive mind of a Russian person comes up with a variety of options for growing seedlings: plastic bottles, toilet paper, egg cells, etc. Some gardeners grow cucumber seedlings in an egg-shell. Do it this way:
- Carefully clean the boiled egg to leave most of the shell intact.
- Pierce the whole end with a needle, 1-2 holes for drainage.
- Put a shell in the shell.
- Set the shell in the cell.
- Moisturize the soil by spraying.
- Plant a seed at a shallow depth.
- Once again sprayed.
Caring for seedlings in the shell is no different from care in cups. It is planted in the garden along with the shell, smashing it so that the roots reach the soil more easily. The advantages of such a container seem rather doubtful and consist, perhaps, only in saving money and in the fact that the shell serves as fertilizer. The obvious disadvantage is the size of such a “container”: it is difficult for the cucumber seedlings to grow to a marketable state.
Shells are convenient to use, only it is too small for a cucumber

Some useful tips
With all the rules of preparation for sowing and the correct agricultural technology, cucumber seedlings grow strong and do not give the gardener major problems. But if something was done with the marriage, options are possible, sometimes ending with the complete destruction of the seedlings.
What to do if the seedlings are stretched
During the growing of seedlings it is necessary to maintain temperature, light and humidity regimes clearly. Pulling seedlings almost unambiguously indicates that the temperature was exceeded, there was not enough light, and watering was not performed according to the rules. The temperature after the appearance of the first shoots must be necessarily reduced, and the illumination increased.
Sometimes it is enough to just wash the windows to increase the light!
You should not sow cucumbers too early when the daylight hours are short: these are extra problems that are not worth the time and effort spent on solving them.
In healthy seedlings, the distance from the soil to the cotyledon leaves in a week after germination should not be more than 5 cm. It is difficult to save clearly stretched seedlings, it is better to repeat the sowing. If the problem does not go deep, you can try to increase the illumination and reduce the temperature, and pour a little clean soil to the roots.
Such a seedling is unlikely to save
At an older age, stretching occurs rarely and only because of lack of space: growing seedlings must be periodically moved away from each other.Sometimes in the stretching of seedlings is to blame and the excess nitrogen in the soil.
What to do if the seedlings turn yellow
Yellowing of the leaves can signal various problems, even serious illness. But in the case of seedlings, this is rare: it is unlikely that in a short time she managed to pick up sores somewhere. Most often this happens because of poorly prepared soil, which lacks nitrogen fertilizers. In this case, watering a solution of urea and lightly spraying it on the leaves can save the plants. But yellowness can occur not only from a lack of nitrogen, but from an incorrect overall balance of nutrients in the soil. Here, without a competent analysis, nothing can be done, it is better to take a new qualitative soil and, if not too late, repeat the sowing.
A slight yellowing of the seedlings can be eliminated, but in the photo is already a threatening situation.
Yellow leaves can also be from too low temperatures: you should check if the plants are cold, especially at night. The lack of light can also affect the color of the leaves, but at the same time, first of all, the seedlings begin to stretch. But too bright spring sun can, on the contrary, burn some of the foliage, and this, too, must be watched.Other causes of yellowing of leaves are as diverse as they are rare, they are the subject of a separate, very detailed conversation.
What to do if pests appear
The main pests of cucumbers are: melon aphid, ants, gall nematodes, whiteflies, spider mites, etc., the list is very long, but at the seedling stage most of them cannot harm the plants, especially at home. Pests can get only with the soil, but with proper preparation it is impossible.
In particular, miniature worms of collembolas, which are six-legged creatures several millimeters long, can get into the soil. They eat small roots of seedlings, the risk increases with waterlogging. If they are really wound up, you can try preparations from soil pests, for example, Grom-2, or universal insecticides (Aktaru).
Similarly, they look (if without a microscope) and gall nematodes. With a slight invasion, the same measures can help.
Juicy and fleshy tomatoes can be grown at home. But you need to make a lot of effort, and start with the seedlings: https://legkovmeste.ru/ogorod/kak-vyirastit-rassadu-pomidor-v-domashnih-usloviyah.html
Features of cultivation in different regions
The general principles of growing cucumber seedlings do not depend on the region, only the terms of sowing seeds and the subsequent planting of seedlings in the garden differ: planting is possible when the soil reaches a temperature of 18aboutC. In the southern regions, sowing of seeds is possible in the very first days of April, and in the northern - only in May. In most regions of the country, sowing of seeds is carried out at the end of April. For greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers, the dates shift 1-2 weeks earlier.
In the Leningrad region, Karelia and the surrounding areas, the cultivation of cucumbers outside of greenhouses is generally rare. Therefore, the time of sowing seeds depends on the quality of the greenhouse: after all, in a heated greenhouse, this can be done at any time of the year. But ordinary gardeners transplanted into unheated greenhouses seedlings only at the end of May, which means that the sowing of seeds occurs shortly before the May holidays. The same situation develops in most areas of Siberia and the Urals.
If we talk about the Kuban or the Astrakhan region, then for the consumption of cucumbers in the usual time there is no point in growing seedlings at all. And for obtaining early outdoor crops, sowing seeds in greenhouses can be started at the end of March, and for greenhouse cultivation - in February.
Video: cultivation of cucumber seedlings in the Leningrad Region
Growing cucumber seedlings is practiced if you want to get early harvests, but for normal consumption in the middle of summer in most of our country, you can safely sow the seeds directly in the garden. The very process of preparing the seedlings is simple and is available to any trucker who has minimal experience of working with the land.
