What is cloud service?

Recently, the so-called cloud for file storage has become very popular. But what is this? Read in our article!

Why do I need a cloud service?

Cloud service is the solution for synchronizationfiles with a remote server, more precisely, a group of servers, which can be in a variety of places. In this case, the end user does not even guess that his files are distributed between different servers. It is with this that the term "cloud" is associated: such a repository seems monolithic, but in fact consists of many small particles.

However, for ordinary users these subtletiesnot important. The main thing is that you can download all the files from your computer to the cloud, and then download them from the same cloud to any other computer, smartphone, tablet, or even look without downloading. This is very convenient, since it eliminates the need to manually copy files from one device to another. In addition, you can give links to download files from the cloud to other users. And some kinds of files, for example, images, can be viewed directly through the browser.

Special software constantlymonitors the status of files, and if they change - synchronizes these changes with the cloud. Read more about this in our article Synchronization through cloud services.
