When you can only laugh
Angry, sometimes sad, sometimes merciless irony in pictures, many people managed to become targets for them: from Santa Claus to Putin, from America with the cult of consumption to Jesus with gadgets.
Angel Boligan Corbo was born on May 10th, 1965 in San Antonio de los Banos in Cuba. What is interesting is that the city is famous for its Museum of Humor and the International Biennial of Humor.
He studied at the National School of Plastic Arts Instructors in Havana. He worked as an editor, illustrator and cartoonist in the magazine "El Universal" and the newspaper "Conozca mas".
Angel comes from a country filled with dreams, disappointments and, sometimes, even nightmares. Cuba - the land of continuous social and political upheavals gave the author an extraordinary life experience. A socialist who has fallen into the capitalist world sees the world wider than the average man and surprisingly mature.
In 1992, Angel left Cuba and moved to Mexico, but it was not until 2000 that he was successful and recognized worldwide after victories at major cartoonist contests.
The author has his fans in all of Europe, in Latin America and even in China, so that Angela can be safely called a cartoonist of the 21st century.
Currently, Angel is the editor of the comic magazine "El Chamuco". Winner of more than 120 different prizes in international caricature competitions. Member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. President of Cartoonclub Agency. Lives and works in Mexico City.
Each work is the result of copyright reflections on the problems of love and relationships in the family. For example, the artist is concerned that real life eludes real life: instead of driving football, the guys on the street play computer games.
